Iberostar Opens Property in Madrid

IberostarIberostar Hotels & Resorts has opened a new property in Madrid, Iberostar Las Letras Gran Via. This is the Spanish hospitality brand’s first hotel in Madrid, located in the central area of Gran Via.

The hotel originally opened in 1917, but it was recently restored. It now uses natural light to highlight the hotel’s facilities, which include 103 rooms, a lounge and more. A literary theme fills the hotel, and the six floors are painted different colors and have famous lines from books and poetry running throughout. A large library is the main focal point of the property.

Las Letras Gran Via also houses the Al Trapo restaurant, helmed by Michelin-starred chef Paco Morales.

The new hotel follows Iberostar's opening of the Iberostar Playa Mita, which opened in December 2013 and created a buzz in Mexico. That Mexico location, located between the moutains and sea, boats more than 400 rooms. Iberostar Hotels & Resorts is part of Grupo Iberostar and has about 100 hotels worldwide.
