Karisma Hotels & Resorts has appointed Heather Krasnow as director of marketing and David Black as director of sales, trade.

Krasnow is a marketing strategist with more than two decades of experience working with an array of national and international hospitality, consumer and lifestyle brands. Her experience is heavily steeped in high-level public relations, crisis management, social media and integrated marketing.  At Karisma Hotels & Resorts, Krasnow oversees advertising, marketing, public relations, social media and partnerships across each one of its brands, including El Dorado Spa Resorts & Hotels, Azul Hotels & Villas, Generations Resorts, Allure Hotels, and the new Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts.

Previously, Krasnow served as director of marketing for Resorts World, a subsidiary of The Genting Group – the world’s largest casino gaming company – where she was responsible for overseeing the brand image and reputation of Resorts World Miami, Resorts World Bimini and Bimini SuperFast. Before that, she ran her own marketing and public relations consultancy, HK Media, where she strategized for a number of high-profile companies, including Voyages to Antiquity, The Homestead Company and Rave Reviews Culinary Spirits. Krasnow was also the public relations practice head for Starmark International, an award-winning integrated marketing agency based in Fort Lauderdale.

Black formerly served as director of sales for Resorts World Bimini, where he was responsible for building the sales department from the ground up. He led the pre-opening hotel team for Hilton at Resorts World Bimini, a 305-room marina property in The Bahamas, and went on to oversee day-to-day operations for the outside and inside sales agents, revenue management, reservations call center, groups, travel agents and FIT business. Before joining Resorts World Bimini, Black had his own consultancy, Black Label Hospitality, where he provided counsel for boutique luxury hotels. He has worked with a variety of notable resorts, including Sugar Bay Resort and Spa, Kiwi Collection Hotels, Visa Luxury Hotel Collection and Small Luxury Hotels of the World.

The expansion of Karisma’s executive leadership team comes in the wake of its recently revealed global expansion plans to own and operate 30 resorts around the world by 2020. Most recently, the company unveiled the new El Dorado Seaside Suites in Mexico’s Riviera Maya, and announced plans for Nickelodeon Hotels & Resorts Punta Cana, Nickelodeon’s first-ever international hotel property, opening in May.
