Six Senses Rebrands Evason HideawaysNovember 6, 2007 By: Travel Agent Central Contributor Travel Agent
Six Senses Resorts & Spas is giving each of its Evason Hideaway boutique properties the new name of Six Senses Hideaway, a decision made in response to market surveys that showed that the Six Senses brand--thus far reserved for the spa division--had high global recognition and reflected the lifestyle experiences offered at the resorts.
The first new Six Senses Hideaway opened last week on the Thai island of Yao Noi (just beyond Phuket in Phang Nga Bay), and has 56 private pool villas. Evason Hideaway villa properties to be renamed Six Senses Hideaway are located in Hua Hin and Samui in Thailand, and the property at Ana Mandara, Vietnam, will be rebranded as Six Senses Hideaway at Ninh Van Bay.The next new build for the company will open as Six Senses Hideaway Zighy Bay, on Oman's Mussandam peninsula, in January 2008. The property will have 82 private pool villas and suites, and will be the first Six Senses Hideaway outside southeast Asia. Future Six Senses Hideaways are already in development on the island of Con Dao in Vietnam and Vatulele Island in Fiji, while several more are in the planning stage.
To further expand the Six Senses group, a second resort brand is being developed, Six Senses Latitude. These properties will have a greater number of accommodations than Six Senses Hideaways.
The first of the new-build Six Senses Latitude properties will have 97 rooms and open next year in Jafre, in the Catalonia region of Spain. The second new Six Senses Latitude will open in the Laamu Atoll to the south of the Maldives capital, Male, with 100 villas, many overwater. Visit [http://www.sixsenses.com]. (MR)
