Resort Refresher

St. James’s Club & Villas, on a 100-acre peninsula on the southeastern coast of Antigua, has two accommodation choices: The Club and The Village. The Club has 197 guest rooms (including the new suites) plus restaurants, lounges and activity centers. The last time rooms were added was in 2007 when eight oceanfront Premium Guest Rooms debuted. They boast ocean views from balconies; flat-screen TVs; soaking tubs for two; and sofa beds to sleep three guests.

The Village, set on a hillside, comprises 41 two-bedroom villas averaging 1,600 square feet, each with a living room, dining area, full kitchen and private terrace. Each bedroom has its own bathroom; master bedrooms include a deep soaking tub and shower combo.

St. James’s Club & Villas Beauty Salon & Spa treatment options are performed with Pevonia Botanica products. Two massage rooms provide, among other treatments, an aromatherapy massage and a body wrap with black magma, a natural healing mud.

The resort’s new Mamora Bay Divers PADI Scuba Center provides everything from introductory Discover Scuba courses to open-water PADI dive certification and night dives. Popular sites include Sunken Rock, an underwater pillar; Sam’s Hangover, a drift dive; and Pillars of Hercules, which is good for both qualified and novice divers.
