UnCruise Adventures has updated its nine-day itinerary to Quito, Ecuador, and the Galapagos Islands, now with 10 sail dates set for 2017. The new tour spends two days exploring colonial Quito and seven days cruising the islands on the 48-guest La Pinta. Guests also have the option to add extensions into the Amazon or Machu Picchu after the trip.

The “Darwin’s Islands & Colonial Quito Adventure” starts with a two-night stay at the 31-room Casa Gangotena, located in historic Quito. In Quito, guided walking tours allow guests to explore the city’s culture and cuisine, as well as historic landmarks and museums.

The cruise sails from Isla Baltra and visits the islands of Seymour Norte, Isabela, Fernandina, Rabida, Santa Cruz and Floreana. Highlights of the cruise include stopping at the Charles Darwin Research Center, the geological marine site of Punta Vicente Roca on Isla Isabela and a visit to Isla Rabida’s Red Beach. Guided tours and small group activities will allow guests to explore the islands’ bird and wildlife population in their natural habitats. Other oft-seen wildlife includes giant tortoises, iguanas, flamingos, green sea turtles, white-tipped reef sharks, lava lizards and more. To explore the waters, guests have the opportunity to kayak, skiff, snorkel or sail on a glass-bottom boat.

The 10 departure dates in 2017 include February 22, March 22, April 19, May 3 and 17, July 12 and 26, August 9 and October 4. Guests who book before October 28, 2016, are eligible to receive a savings of $300 per couple when reserving the February, March or April departures. Rates for the excursion begin at $8,295 per person with double occupancy. Included in the tours are hotel accommodations; commercial flights between destinations; entry fees to national parks and preserves; transfers; tours and adventure activities; breakfast, lunch and private dinner in Quito and all meals plus premium spirits, wine and beer on La Pinta.

A four-night Amazon rain forest cruise on the Anakonda explores the amazon basin and takes guests through the Panacocha Biologial Corridor, Napo River and Yasuni National Park for an additional price of $2,725 per person, double occupancy. A six-night tour of Machu Picchu takes guests through Lima, Chinchero, Ollantaytambo, Moray, Mara, Machu Picchu and Cusco, through Inca sites and towns in the Sacred Valley. Rates for that add-on opportunity start at $4,965 per person, double occupancy.
