African Travel, Inc. has announced six new itineraries for 2017 in its most recent brochure, spanning from South Africa to Mozambique and including two new safaris and a community experience in the northern Maasai Mara.

New for 2017 include the ME to WE Kenya Community Experience, Best of Botswana, Under Kenyan Skies and South African Adventure. Each itinerary offers a unique and diverse way to explore the African landscape, whether guests prefer to give back to the community, explore and help the environment or experience wildlife like a local.

African Travel, Inc. has partnered with ME to WE to provide the immersive ME to WE Kenya Community Experience, where guests will participate in a water walk, learn the art of Maasai beading and assist with building a new school, among other community activities. Members of the tour will also experience a sunrise hike with local Maasai guides, a tour of a local elementary school and a visit to the local market.

Travelers will visit one of the world’s Seven Natural Wonders on the Best of Botswana tour, where they will visit Victoria Falls. Also within the itinerary includes a morning and an afternoon safari experiences within the UNESCO World Heritage Site at Okavango Delta

The Under Kenyan Skies itineraries offers luxury-eco accommodations to “green travelers” for when they are not exploring Laikipia and the Massai Mara, two iconic wildlife regions of the area, in open vehicle day and night game drives. At the David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust, guests will be introduced to an orphaned foster elephant. Guests of the tour will also experience a variety of guided walks, horseback safaris and visits to community and conservation projects before returning to bed for the evening in handcrafted four-poster beds.

Revamped itineraries for 2017 includes African Romance, which now has an added a longer, four-night beach stay in Mozambique and a fourth night in Cape Town to accommodate a full day private excursion in the winelands. The safari still features the same three-night stay in Kruger private reserve, but has removed the winelands stay to allow less travel time. The Marine and Wildlife Encounter has been updated as well to include a new three-night stay at Grootbos Garden Lodge. On their trip, guests will explore the Shamwari Game Reserve (home to the coveted Big Five: rhinos, lions, elephants, buffalo and leopards) and one of the largest private conservation initiatives in South Africa. The itinerary also includes a series of active and nature-based adventures on the Cape Peninsula.

Also exploring the Kruger area game reserves is the new South African Adventure. The itinerary includes stays at deluxe and luxury properties while guests discover Cape Town’s local culture, expanding urban side and nearby sceneries. On the tour guests will explore two different private Kruger area game reserves with professional rangers who will discuss the conservation of Africa’s wildlife on safari.
