Travel Insured’s Perry Wins ASTA’s Allied Award

ASTA presented its Allied Member of the Year Award to Cynthia Perry, vice president of sales and industry relations for Travel Insured International, for her outstanding contributions to the travel industry. Each year, ASTA acknowledges one of its Allied members for having positively impacted the travel agency community.

“Cindy Perry has always given special support to ASTA and travel agents, whether it’s sponsoring continuing education for our members or backing the work that ASTAPAC performs each year on behalf of travel agents throughout the industry,” said Chris Russo, ASTA president and chair. “A stalwart ASTA supporter, she always goes the extra mile on behalf of ASTA and its members, encouraging others to do the same. Her dedication to our industry sets her apart and for it, we are very thankful.”

Perry joined Travel Insured International in 2006 with 10 years of travel insurance experience. Her responsibilities include development of business relationships with national retail, wholesale, consortium's and association businesses. A graduate of the University of Georgia, she is an active participant on various industry association boards including the ASTA Allied Marketing Council, the ASTA Board for the Southeast Region, the Travel Institute advisory board where she earned her Certified Travel Counselor (CTC) certification in 1996, and the Platinum Luxury Society advisory board.

Perry is also an active member of Tourism Cares, Society of Accessible Travel and Hospitality (SATH) and the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA) and appears frequently on conference panels and seminars to discuss travel protection issues.

She began her travel industry career as the regional sales representative for LaQuinta Inns, where she was responsible for the sales and marketing of 11 La Quinta Inns throughout the state of Florida. She later worked for Florida-based Palm Beach Cruise Lines, selling short getaway cruises to the Bahamas, before joining the travel insurance industry in 1997.
