AA Flight Attendants Ready to Strike

Looks like American Airlines (AA) is feeling British Airways' pain as AA flight attendants authorized union leaders to call a strike against the carrier, Bloomberg reports.

As negotiations are proceed between AA and the union, which represents 16,550 of its the carrier's flight attendants, nearly 97 percent of those casting ballots to are in favor of a strike, Laura Glading, president of the Association of Professional Flight Attendants President, told members in a recorded message. The strike comes amidst discussions about pay raises and retirement benefits. According to Bloombger, a strike will not take place until American and the union complete steps required by a federal law that governs airline labor talks.
