United Airlines and American announced the suspension of most service to and from the New York due to a storm targeting the the New York area.
United said the cancellations took effect between noon Wednesday, Nov. 7, and noon Thursday, Nov. 8, as a result of the winter storm forecast for the region. Weather conditions will likely cause additional delays and cancellations at other northeast airports, United said.
At Newark Liberty International Airport, between noon Wednesday and noon Thursday, the airline operated its long-haul international flights and flights to and from the airline's other hubs, but will suspend most of its remaining services.
At John F. Kennedy International and LaGuardia airports, United operated most flights before noon, with all services then suspended through noon Thursday.
Where possible, United has proactively rebooked travelers ticketed with connections at Newark Liberty through the airline's other hubs.

Customers ticketed on flights to, from or through airports in the path of the storm from Nov. 6 through Nov. 8 may reschedule their itineraries for travel originating no later than Nov. 15 with a one-time date or time change.

American said that due to severe weather projected for the Northeast, American Airlines and American Eagle have suspended operations at a several airports in the region. American encouraged customers to continue to check AA.com/TravelAlerts for the latest information.
American Airlines and American Eagle suspended operations Nov. 7 in Philadelphia (PHL) at noon and at all New York-area airports by 3 p.m. Operations at these airports restarted the morning of Thursday, Nov. 8.
American and American Eagle canceled approximately 290 flights to, from and through these airports on Nov. 7 and 8.
AA sad its customers whose tickets were issued no later than Nov. 6 and are scheduled to travel Nov. 7 or Nov. 8 on American Airlines, American Eagle or AmericanConnection flights to, from or through impacted airports may change flights without penalty, have the ticket-reissue charge waived for one ticket change, and begin travel as late as Nov. 15 under American's current travel waiver.
