AirTran Airways' new nonstop daily service from Chicago's Midway International Airport to Dallas/Ft. Worth International Airport and Charlotte Douglas International Airport took flight yesterday. The new service is operated with Boeing 717 aircraft. AirTran said it continues to operate new flights from Midway; it now operates 32 daily flights there. Separately, on Tuesday AirTran also inaugurated nonstop service with Boeing 737 aircraft between Indianapolis and Los Angeles. The airline will add nonstop service to San Francisco International Airport beginning June 7, and add another nonstop flight to Los Angeles starting June 20.
