American Airlines Begins Daily Service From DFW to Seoul, South Korea

american airlinesAmerican Airlines has launched daily nonstop service between Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport (DFW) and Incheon International Airport (ICN) in Seoul, South Korea.

Through American's network from Dallas/Fort Worth, customers traveling from South Korea now have one-stop access to nearly 200 additional destinations.

The new service is operated as part of American's joint business agreement with fellow oneworld alliance member Japan Airlines. Through oneworld member airlines and their affiliates, American's customers have access to more than 145 destinations within Asia.

"South Korea's continued growth as a key business market has created increased demand for direct travel to and from the region," said Chuck Schubert, American's vice president - network planning. "This new route enhances our expanding global network and further establishes American's position as the preferred carrier for one-stop connections between Asia and major business and leisure destinations in North, Central and South America."

Jeff Fegan, CEO of DFW Airport said in a statement:  "At DFW, it is our mission to deliver a world class travel experience for visitors to Dallas/Fort Worth as well as to expand our region's presence and visibility around the globe, and this new service from our great partners at American will help bring more business and leisure travelers and economic opportunities."

American designed the inflight experience for the DFW-ICN service with special attention to the culture of the airline's Korean customers. The new route is operated with a Boeing 777-200 aircraft, featuring 16 Flagship Suite seats in first class. Those seats transform into fully lie-flat beds -- six foot, six inches long -- with drop-down armrests.

The aircraft will also feature inflight entertainment at every seat, including Korean movies and pop music (K-Pop), Hollywood movies (with Korean audio or subtitles) and games.

Inflight menus feature a variety of traditional Korean and Asian options, including "Bibimbap,"a signature Korean dish, as well as kimchi chicken, Korean braised pork belly and seafood udon noodles in First and Business Class. Chicken with plum sauce will be served in the main cabin.

American will also offer a shin ramen noodle cup as a snack option to customers in all cabins. In addition, American recruited and hired flight attendants fluent in both English and Korean to better serve customers on this flight.

While at Incheon International Airport, American's premium customers will have access to Asiana's concourse lounges, which offer an enhanced customer experience at the airport.

The daily flight from DFW to ICN, AA Flight 27, will depart DFW at 10:20 a.m. Central Time and arrive ICN at 2:50 p.m. Korean Standard Time the following day.

From ICN to DFW, AA Flight 26, departs ICN at 4:50 p.m. Korean Standard Time and arrive DFW at 4:05 Central Time the following day.
