ARC and IATA Form Data Partnership

April 9, 2008 By: George Dooley

The Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) have partnered to create the first truly global data solution for the airline industry. ARC’s Itinerary Detail data will now be available to carriers for delivery through the IATA PaxIS product.

ARC said customers will now have the opportunity to support business decisions based on business intelligence from IATA and ARC ticketed transactions from nearly 160 countries and approximately 400 ticketing carriers.

In related news, ARC said it is introducing Flex-Rate—an optional transaction pricing model for ARC participating carriers. The move provides a significant incentive for shifting new volume to the ARC agency reporting and settlement system. Under the Flex-Rate Plan, carriers growing their year-over-year transactions can enjoy a dramatically reduced transaction fee for the incremental new volume.

Both moves allow ARC to effectively use and market its substantial data resources. More than $80 billion annually is processed through ARC. Visit
