Boeing to Resume Aircraft Delivery As Machine Workers Strike Ends

November 3, 2008 By: Kirk Cassels

Shortly after Boeing Company cited a machine workers strike as a primary reason for the decline in the company's third-quarter numbers, union members approved a new contract to end the eight-week strike that hindered the delivery of aircraft to several carriers, the Associated Press reports. Nearly three-quarters of the union, which represents almost 27,000 workers, voted in favor of a new proposal Saturday. The new contract will provide pay increases over the next four years, preserve health benefits, and will prevent the outsourcing of particular jobs.
