British Airways' CEO Reassures Customers

March 19, 2010 By: Staff

Willie Walsh, CEO of the UK's flag-carrier British Airways, released a statement today reassuring customers that "We will keep our flag flying." The statement is below:

During Unite's forthcoming strike, the majority of people who work for British Airways will be doing their utmost to minimize disruption to our customers.

We have a significant number of cabin crew who don't believe in the strike and will continue to work. They will be supported by countless volunteers from across our airline.

It has been recognized by many this week that this unjustified strike will be a blow not only to our customers and to British Airways but also to Britain. I believe that Unite has made the wrong decision and misjudged the mood of our times.

My door remains open to Unite. In the meantime, customers can find up-to-date information at

I'd like to thank our customers for their patience and support and everyone at BA who is working to hard to keep the flag flying.
