SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Construction began July 18 on a $1.8 billion project to remake terminals at Salt Lake City International Airport.

The new design will trade in the hub's three terminals for one big terminal.

Officials say the project is tricky because it's set to go up right next to the existing airport, which will operate as normal during construction.
