Emirates and JAL Expand Code Share

Emirates and Japan Airlines (JAL) are expanding their existing code share partnership between Japan and Dubai, U.A.E. Starting June 1, the code share agreement will allow JAL to place its flight code on roundtrip flights operated by Emirates between Dubai International Airport and Nagoya's Chubu International Airport, popularly known as Centrair. On the same day, Emirates will launch nonstop services four times a week—every Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday—between the two airports, expanding into a daily operation on July 1. The expanded arrangements include JAL's domestic flights to and from two important cities—Fukuoka in southern Japan and Sapporo in Japan's northern region. Currently, the two airlines code share on Emirates' daily nonstop service between Osaka's Kansai International Airport and Dubai, as well as on JAL's domestic flights operating between Osaka and Tokyo, Sapporo and Fukuoka. In addition to the code share flights, JAL and Emirates' frequent flyer programs (FFPs) are linked, enabling members of Emirates' Skywards and JAL Mileage Bank (JMB) to earn miles on each other's flights, which can be redeemed for free flights on both airlines' networks.
