Etihad to Add Dreamliner Aircraft to Washington D.C. Service

washington dcEtihad Airways will use a Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner on its daily Washington D.C. service, beginning on March 15. This will mean the U.S. debut of Etihad’s next generation first, business and economy class products.

The aircraft has eight First Suites, 28 Business Studios and 199 Economy Smart Seats. The onboard interior design and lighting is inspired by Arabian design.

“As the most technologically advanced aircraft in its class, the Boeing 787 will reduce the operating costs and carbon emissions on our Washington, D.C. route and provide maximum efficiency and reliability,” said James Hogan, president and CEO of Etihad Airways.

The Washington D.C. service is popular among government and business travelers, and passengers flying to Washington D.C. will arrive having pre-cleared U.S. Customs and Border Protection. They will be cleared at the Abu Dhabi Airport before boarding their flight to avoid long lines in the capital. The flight will depart Abu Dhabi at 11:30 am local time. It will depart Washington D.C. at 10:50 pm local time.

Etihad flies to six destinations in the U.S., including San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas-Fort Worth, Chicago, Washington D.C and New York.
