Frontier Airlines Offers Nonstop Service to LAX, SJD

Frontier Airlines received tentative approval from the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) for authority to offer daily nonstop service from Los Angeles (LAX) to Cabo San Lucas (SJD), Mexico. The airline said additional details, including flight schedules and fares, would be announced shortly in time for a fall start-up of service. Separately, Frontier filed on Friday with the DOT for authorization to fly nonstop from its Denver (DEN) hub to Guadalajara, Mexico (GDL) four times per week; to fly seasonally from San Diego (SAN) to Cancun, Mexico (CUN) once a week; and to fly seasonally from Kansas City (MCI) to Cabo San Lucas once a week. If approved by DOT, Frontier says it would like to begin service on those new routes in December 2006.
