Judge Denies Northwest's Request for Injunction, Strike Might Proceed

A U.S. bankruptcy court judge denied Northwest Airlines' request for an injunction Thursday to prevent its flight attendant union, the Association of Flight Attendants, from striking against the carrier. The AFA notified Northwest that it may begin a work action as early as Aug. 25. In the wake of the decision, Northwest Chief Executive Officer Doug Steenland promised that the airline would appeal the decision.
