Lufthansa Adds A320neo to Fleet

A320NEO

Lufthansa, along with Airbus and the Pratt & Whitney engine manufacturer, have announced the delivery of the world’s first Airbus A320neo. Two of the new aircraft model were presented to the public during a recent event. The fist A320neo, with registration D-AINA, has already flown scheduled service since January. The second aircraft is expected to join the fleet soon.

The new plane uses less fuel and runs with slightly quieter engines.

The Lufthansa Group has ordered a total of 116 A320neos and A321neos, to be delivered in the coming years. And 60 aircraft will be delivered with the new PW1100G-JM engine from Pratt & Whitney. The A320neo is at least 15 percent more fuel efficient then the pervious A320 model.
