Lufthansa Welcomes Second A380 to Fleet

July 30, 2010 By: Meagan Drillinger

This week Lufthansa welcomed the "Munchen" into her fleet of jets. The company's second A380, Munchen was named after the city of Munich in a christening ceremony in the Lufthansa maintenance hanger at Munich Airport. After the ceremony, the Munchen saw the sights as she flew over the Alps.

Edith von Welser-Ude, the wife of Munich's Lord Mayer, led the christening. The Munchen will be stationed in Frankfurt and will inter service on August 4, joining Lufthansa's first A380 on the Frankfurt-Tokyo route.

The entirely new First Class cabin offers eight deluxe seats. The upper deck also accommodates Business Class with 98 seats.
