NWA Charges Fees

Northwest Airlines has become the latest domestic carrier to impose per-segment booking fees on travel agents using certain GDSs. The company said Monday that agents enrolled in anything other than a select group of programs must pay a $3.50 fee per net segment on bookings beginning Sept. 1. The list of exempt programs includes Sabre's Efficient Access Solution, Galileo's Content Continuity program, Worldspan's Super Access product, all G2 Switchworks products, Farelogix's Direct Connect product and Northwest's agency portals, WorldAgentDirect.com, CorpNet Direct and nwa.com. The carrier is the latest to impose the booking fees on select GDS users, following American Airlines, United and Delta Air Lines.
