United Airlines has announced that President and CEO Oscar Munoz will return to those roles full-time on March 14, resuming all of his duties and responsibilities. The airline also said that he has been participating actively in major corporate decisions during his recovery, as well as meeting with employees, shareholders and other stakeholders.
Munoz was placed on medical leave following a heart attack he suffered October 15. He underwent a heart transplant operation January 6. Shortly after his heart attack, United Airlines named Brett J. Hart, then the airline's executive vice president and general counsel, as acting CEO.
