Travel Industry Votes No Confidence in FAA

A Business Travel Coalition (BTC) survey revealed that 97.1 percent of 2,307 responding travel industry executives said they believed that the top leadership of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) should resign. To date, only 2.1 percent said no and less than one percent were unsure. The online survey is ongoing.

The BTC asked the question “Do you think it is time for the top leadership of the FAA to resign?” It was posted after the appearance of a Wall Street Journal report alleging that the FAA skipped more than 100 major safety reviews. “The real story is the loss of confidence by travel industry practitioners in the ability of government to sufficiently oversee the safety of our aviation system,” said Kevin Phillips, chairman of the BTC.
