United Prepares to Open New Concourse at Boston Airport

Good news for frequent fliers in (and around) Boston: United Airlines and Massport have unveiled a new 10-gate concourse in Boston Logan International Airport’s Terminal B.

Scheduled to open April 30, the Terminal B concourse brings United’s Boston operations together under one roof, making connections faster and easier. When the 162,800 square foot connection opens, all United operations will relocate to Terminal B. The first departing United flights will take place on April 30, although some late night flights will arrive at the new terminal on April 29.

The new space includes several self-service technologies that aim to streamline the airport experience for more "seasoned" travelers and let employees spend more time with customers who need extra assistance. These include self-tagging baggage kiosks, automated self-boarding gates and a new customer service center that lets passengers resolve routine travel issues more easily.

United and Massport invested more than $170 million to build the 97,000-square-foot Terminal B concourse, which includes a new ticketing lobby, improved security screening checkpoints and a spacious United Club lounge for the airline’s premium customers. A notable perk includes accessible in-seat power.

United Club Lounge

The new United Club at Logan Airport – the fourth lounge to feature the airline’s new design concept – is located on top of the Terminal B concourse. The 8,000-square-foot lounge has top views of the airfield and Boston Harbor. The club offers complimentary Wi-Fi, plenty of power outlets and beverage and snack choices.
