Virgin Australia Announces Second Quarter Profits

Plane interiorVirgin Australia has recently announced the results of its second-quarter profits, totaling $55.3 million, news.com.au reports. The figure represents a significant increase (a $47.6 million improvement) from one year ago, when the company was $83 million in the red. 

During this turnaround period, Virgin has shifted towards becoming a “full service” carrier by offering passengers free snacks and beverages, as well as creating new business class suites in order to boost yields.

More details of the airline’s half-year results will be announced on February 19.
