ARC Reports 20 Percent Drop in November Air Sales

The Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) report for November makes for grim reading with a 20.5 percent drop in total sales to $4.7 billion. Year-to-date sales gained only 0.01 percent to $75 billion. The ARC report notes a double-digit drop in transactions, down 19.6 percent to $9.1 billion.

ARC also reported declines in international and domestic fares of 25.8 percent and 19.7 percent respectively. Taxes and fees dropped 7.9 percent. Domestic fares were down 19.7 percent and international fares down 25.8 percent. For the month, 17,834 retail locations reported as well as 1,218 satellite (STP) locations. Average daily sales for the calendar month were $8,391.
