ARC Reports Continued Gains in Air Sales

The Airlines Reporting Corporation (ARC) reports a 16.53 gain in total sales for September 2011 to $6,567,917, 122 billion, a 20.27 percent gain year to date at $60,383,036,819. International fares grew 21.61 percent to $2,687,426,666 and year to date 26.05 percent to $24,556,883,673. Domestic fares grew 11.48 percent to $ 2,883, 305,982 a year to date gain of 16.33 percent to $26,557,475, 284.

Both cash and credit card sales grew at 12.98 percent and 16.88 percent, respectively. Total transactions totaled 12,472,604 a 7.55 percent gain. Domestic transactions hit 9,287,128 a 7.34 percent gain while international transactions grew 8.16 percent to 3,185,476.

In September 191 carriers reported to ARC, along with 15, 169 retail locations, 820 STP satellite locations and 1,160 VTC locations. The average daily sales reported hit $12, 766.
