Amadeus and Canada’s Porter Airlines have signed a new agreement that brings opportunity to Canada’s Porter Airlines and Amadeus travel agents worldwide that can now access and book the carrier’s inventory. Porter Airlines, a Toronto-based short-haul carrier, is focused on business travelers and will get global GDS access.

Under the new agreement for global distribution and access to full content, Porter will benefit from the worldwide distribution of the Amadeus global network, extending its sales opportunities internationally. For Amadeus travel agents around the world, the agreement provides access to all Porter fares and inventory, presenting an additional and unique air travel option for customers whose itineraries take them to Canadian and U.S. destinations served by Porter.

“Porter has tremendous momentum in the marketplace and the time is right for a strategic expansion of our distribution channel,” said Robert Deluce, president and CEO of Porter Airlines. “Amadeus’ significant geographic reach and technological depth allow us to reach a new customer base that may not have tried Porter to date.”

From its base at Billy Bishop Toronto City Airport, located on an island in Toronto Harbor just offshore of the city’s business and tourism districts, Porter serves 12 Canadian cities, as well as major U.S. cities including Boston, Chicago and New York. Seasonal service is also available to Myrtle Beach, SC. Its downtown Toronto location and dedicated terminal facilities offer convenient accessibility that significantly reduces total travel time for travelers with business in the city.

Porter is also focused on providing a high level of service. Renovated facilities, airport lounges, modern aircraft, all-leather seats, extra leg room, complimentary refreshments, and specially-trained service staff come standard with every flight, creating a unique travel experience for passengers.

“Amadeus is committed to offering our worldwide subscribers access to content that allows them to meet and exceed the diverse needs of their customers,” said Dwayne Ingram, Executive Vice President for Amadeus Americas Airline Group. “Porter Airlines’ combination of accessibility, convenience, and service is especially welcomed by business travelers.”
