Delta Baggage to Require 45-Minute Window

October 4, 2007 By: Travel Agent Central Contributor Travel Agent

Important news for New Yorkers who wait to check baggage until the last minute: At John F. Kennedy International Airport, Delta Air Lines now requires baggage be checked a minimum of 45 minutes before departure time on domestic flights. The change, effective October 15, also applies to customers flying Delta Connection, as well as code share flights operated by the airline. Should customers miss the 45-minute window, they will be notified during the check-in process. The airline said the move is an effort to improve customer service at the busy airport. Delta customers traveling domestically and not checking bags are advised to arrive 30 minutes prior to departure time. Similar Delta policies already are in place at airports in Atlanta, Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Orlando and Denver. Visit []. (JM)
