Travelport GDS Reports Lead in E-ticketing

In the drive toward meeting the International Air Transport Association's mandate of 100% electronic ticketing by June 1, 2008, Travelport GDS said it was maintaining the industry’s leadership role in enabling airlines and agencies to go paperless.

New data shows that 95 percent of Travelport tickets issued globally across Galileo, Apollo and Worldspan are electronic. In the last three weeks, Travelport has reduced the number of paper tickets by 13 percent and says over 6,273 interline e-ticketing agreements for airlines are supported with more added daily.

Travelport is also a leader in providing Interchange services to airlines around the world. The Interchange is a total solution which facilitates interline e-ticketing industry-wide. Airlines have immediate access to all carriers and ground handlers, representing over 20 different electronic ticketing systems, whose interline e-ticket messages are processed through the Interchange.
