Alberta Flood Update - Website Tracks Recovery

Alberta, CanadaA few days of severe weather triggered localized flooding in some areas of southern Alberta, Canada. So, Travel Alberta has launched a dedicated website to provide travelers, travel agents and tour operators with the latest information on tourism-related flood recovery updates.

“Over the past week, Albertans have come together in the flood recovery – a true testament to the kindness and hospitality of our communities,” said Bruce Okabe, CEO of Travel Alberta. “We want to create the best vacation experience possible for travelers and ensure our travel partners have the information they need to help those planning vacations to Alberta – Alberta is open for business.”

Calgary International Airport and Edmonton International Airport are operating as usual. The Trans-Canada Highway between Calgary and Banff is open as of June 26.

Travel Alberta will continue to update its website with the latest information in cooperation with tourism destination organizations, tourism operators and the Government of Alberta.
