Travel Agent recently discovered two new, modern, chic all-inclusive resorts worth pitching to clients planning to vacation in either Jamaica or the Dominican Republic.

From an adults-only resort on the beautiful Dominican Republic island of Samana to an elegant all-inclusive in the little known area of Rio Bueno, Jamaica, we break down all the selling points of each of these hot resorts.

Viva Wyndham V Samana

As part of the recently concluded Dominican Annual Tourism Exchange (DATE), Travel Agent had the opportunity to tour the new Viva Wyndham V Samana. The resort opened in December 2015 and faces the Bahia de Coson in the destination of Las Terrenas, Samana, Dominican Republic.

The Samana Peninsula is one of the most attractive and least explored regions of the country. The V Samana is surrounded by an impressive oceanfront. This resort combines an all-inclusive package with the needs of today’s adult travelers, who seek life experiences in a refined atmosphere.

The 144 rooms, all with ocean or garden views and amenities, will become a guest’s sanctuary to rest or recharge. The hotel offers an exclusive category, “Vibe Rooms,” with ocean view and private plunge pools on ground level. These are the best rooms in the hotel.

Wyndham V Samana’s gastronomic offerings are very diverse and include four restaurants. Le Marche, the main restaurant, has “market-style” stations with different food offerings. Mediterraneas brings local flavors to the table. For seafood and grilled specialties, we recommend Mar y Fuego; and, for international tastes, Fusion is the place to dine. Guests have unlimited access to the hotel’s à la carte restaurants, without the need to make reservations. Additionally, the resort has 24-hour room service available.

The resort has a selection of activities and entertainment, ranging from yoga and Pilates classes to cooking lessons. Your more adventurous clients can choose between varieties of sports and excursions or discover the nightlife of Las Terrenas. Viva Wyndham V Samana’s natural spa aims to completely revitalize the mind, body and spirit by offering services in an ambiance where the natural surroundings blend with the local materials.

This is a good pitch for clients seeking a vacation experience similar to Punta Cana except without the crowds. We also recommend this for a romantic holiday because of the seclusion this resort offers. It is also a great setting for couples looking to tie the knot as a wedding coordinator is always available to assist. Travel agents should also note that Samana is said to be one of the most LGBT-welcoming destinations in the Dominican Republic, so, those clients would also be a great fit here.

Melia Braco Village

As part of our coverage of the annual Jamaica Product Exchange (JAPEX), which wrapped up last month, we were given a chance to visit the new Melia Braco Village. The hotel, formerly Grand Lido Braco, opened in Rio Bueno, Jamaica, in December. All 232 non-smoking guestrooms, including the 52 suites, have a minibar that is replenished daily; 42-inch TV; high-speed Wi-Fi; 24-hour room service and other amenities.

Nestled on a secluded, private stretch of white-sand beach on Jamaica’s north coast, Melia Braco offers five à la carte restaurants and one buffet, five bars, two pools, a wellness and fitness center, a Kids’ Club and a duty-free gift shop. For your engaged couples, there’s a wedding chapel and both beachside and garden wedding gazebos. The resort also has two meeting rooms suitable for small to midsize events.

Melia Braco Village is only 45 minutes from Sangster International Airport in Montego Bay, Jamaica. The resort can arrange airport transfers. Many popular excursions and tours are within half an hour from the property. Also, a dedicated excursion desk can be found at the hotel lobby.

This looks like a solid pitch for both Millennials and multigenerational clients. Agents should direct any questions to Deyon Brown ([email protected], 876-618-6068, ext. 4010), reservations supervisor.

Royalton on the Horizon

Royalton Luxury Resorts recently announced four new, luxury all-inclusive resorts on two popular Caribbean islands. Royalton Luxury Resorts and Hideaway at Royalton, an adults-only hotel within a resort, are slated to open on Seven Mile Beach in Negril, Jamaica, and in a private cove on St. Lucia on February 1, 2017.

This expansion of Royalton has led to a two-fold increase in Jamaica by 573 rooms (with 166 in Hideaway at Royalton, Negril) and has created the opportunity to offer 455 luxurious suites in St. Lucia (with 94 in Hideaway at Royalton, Saint Lucia).

Each Royalton Luxury Resort will offer high-thread-count sheets atop “DreamBeds” designed exclusively for Royalton, and signature rain showers or in-suite Jacuzzis. In-room amenities include USB recharge and Bluetooth audio stations, a safe with interior power outlet, satellite TV and a stocked minibar. All rooms also have either a balcony or a terrace.

In November, Royalton Luxury Resorts is expanding its portfolio of modern all-inclusive resorts with the new Royalton Blue Waters, adjacent to Royalton White Sands, on the shores of White Bay near Montego Bay, Jamaica. During our recent coverage of JAPEX, Travel Agent toured the site, which will offer 228 luxury guestrooms.

The resort’s “All-In Connectivity” includes free in-suite unlimited long distance calls to North America and parts of Europe and complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the resort. Guests who upgrade to Royalton Blue Waters’ Diamond Club will gain access to an exclusive lounge that offers premium drinks and canapés, exclusive à la carte restaurants and bar areas, a private beach area with waiter service, and rooms that provide dedicated butler service, a selection of in-suite liquors, upgraded room service options and a special pillow menu.
