Sandals Negril Becomes National Geographic Dive Center

The Professional Association of Diving Instructors (PADI) recently recognized Sandals Negril Beach Resort & Spa as a PADI National Geographic Dive Center.

Sandals Negril is the second resort within the Sandals Resorts International portfolio to receive this honor, following in the footsteps of Beaches Turks & Caicos Resort Villages & Spa.

PADI National Geographic Dive Center status is granted to five-star dive centers and resort facilities that excel in providing dive consumers with a full range of National Geographic Diver Education Programs, while actively promoting the benefits of environmental awareness and responsibility. Highly-trained dive instructors and impeccable customer service performance are also representative of this award.

The PADI National Geographic Diver program is a PADI certification course now available to guests of Sandals Negril Beach Resort & Spa who wish to become dive explorers, adventurers and conservationists. National Geographic Diver participants will observe and explore life as an underwater scientist by studying peak performance buoyancy, underwater navigation, coral reef conservation, fish identification and underwater photography.

A supplement to PADI Open Water Certification, the program is a four-day intensive course that focuses on an exploration project, which includes identifying important aquatic plant and animal species and navigating by using a compass and natural references.

The price for the full course program at Sandals Negril, including PADI Open Water Diver Certification and the National Geographic Diver Course, is $550 per person. For guests who are already Open Water certified, the National Geographic Diver specialty program is $250.
