Sandos Caracol Eco Resorts Get an Eco Upgrade

Sandos Caracol Eco Resort Spa in the Riviera Maya, Mexico, is continuing its efforts to become of the best environmentally-friendly resorts in the region with new eco-savvy upgrades to the property's ocean front facilities.

The resort has upgraded a total of 128 rooms with new modern architectural designs while maintaining the resort's ecological standard of reducing CO2 emissions by 75 percent.

The new oceanfront accommodations will include the following green practices: An air conditioning system with lower energy consumption; solar water heating systems to end use of gas; an internal lighting system based on energy-efficient LED; the installation of furniture made from certified wood and new wastewater recycling system.

In addition to the room upgrades, Sandos Caracol has also created a new BBQ Chill Out Café with a wedding gazebo located on the beach, as well as a Gaucho restaurant with seating for up to 250 people including a show cooking space.

There's a new luxury beach club and bar that will feature live music to provide additional night-time entertainment.
