Amtrak Vacations has recently announced an “eTicket” and “eDocument” service that will enable agents to book itineraries and supply all the necessary information via email. Furthermore, the foregoing provides them with the opportunity to branch out to an international clientele with greater ease, and shift away from working exclusively with customers residing in the United States.
From a client perspective, choosing one of the 300+ rail vacations offered by Amtrak Vacations, has never been quicker or more simple. With the click of a button, arrangements can now be made in a matter of minutes, and travel documents printed from virtually anywhere (eliminating the hassle of waiting in line at the station prior to departure). In addition, travelers have the option of storing tickets on their smartphones and tablets, which they will be required to produce for the conductor as part of the boarding process).
Finally, in anticipation of the upcoming 2015-2016 Escorted and Independent Rail Journeys option, an Early Booking Discount of $300 will be applied to tickets purchased by individual travelers ($500 for couples) for any 2015 Independent (or Escorted) Rail Journey booked by December 31st, 2014.
