Cap Juluca Reopens After Sustaining Minimal Damage From Tropical Storm Gonzalo

cap julucaCap Juluca officially reopened its doors for the winter season on Saturday, November 1. Resort owners Charles and Linda Hickox says the season opening comes despite the rains and winds Tropical Storm Gonzalo recently unleashed.

“Cap Juluca received only minor cosmetic damage from the storm, so we were able to stay on track for the targeted November 1 opening,” said Linda Hickox in a written release. "While the resort did receive some minor water damage to a couple of awnings – which are being replaced – we're happy to report there was no erosion to Maundays Bay, and that it remains one of the most breathtaking beaches in the Caribbean.”

Notable holiday programming includes a special three-course menu in Pimms celebrating Thanksgiving on November 27, and festive holiday menus, activities and live entertainment are scheduled from December 20, 2014, to January 5, 2015, including Cap Juluca's popular New Year's Eve Extravaganza Beach Barbecue with fireworks on December 31.

The resort’s original owners, Charles and Linda Hickox, reacquired the property in May 2012 and have since invested more than $15 million in enhancements.
