Hurtigruten Ship Undergoing Repairs

Hurtigruten's MS Fram is sailing to Ushuaia, Argentina, for repairs after sustaining slight damage to a single lifeboat when it hit a glacier in Antarctica on December 28. The line canceled its January 2 Antarctica departure to ensure that the ship would be in perfect condition before sailing again. The refund amount for passengers on the truncated cruise (which had embarked on December 25) is still being determined due to insurance issues, but in the meantime passengers have been offered 30 percent off a future sailing. Passengers slated for the January 2 departure will receive a full refund and 50 percent off a future sailing. Rebookings with the discounts must be made by April 1. Visit www.hurtigruten.com. (DE)
