NACTA, ASTA to Host Seattle Event Showcasing Fort Lauderdale

beach footprintThe Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau and Holland America Line are teaming up with the National Association of Career Travel Agents (NACTA) and ASTA to host travel professionals at an invitation-only reception Oct. 4 at the Seattle World Trade Center

The event will showcase vacation options in and around Fort Lauderdale, as well as new non-stop roundtrip flights from Seattle to Fort Lauderdale and pre- and post-Holland America Line cruise options out of Port Everglades

The goal  is to strengthen agents’ awareness of the newest product offerings for clients in the Seattle market and allow agents to further position themselves as destination experts, ASTA and NACTA said.

“This event highlights the strong relationship between airlines, cruise lines, CVBs and the professional travel agent community,” said Ann van Leeuwen, vice president of NACTA.

"NACTA and ASTA members in the Pacific Northwest chapters will have the opportunity to further their destination and product knowledge,” said Nina Meyer, ASTA president and chair.

Participants are being asked to make a donation to Seattle Children's Hospital. Prizes and gifts that will be given away at the event include:

Two-night hotel stay (double occupancy), courtesy of the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau and Starwood Hotels.

Seven-day Caribbean cruise for two (one outside stateroom) with upgrade to veranda ocean-view stateroom, courtesy of Holland America Line.

ASTA said further details about the prize giveaway will be provided by the Greater Fort Lauderdale Convention & Visitors Bureau, Starwood Hotels and Holland America Line. ASTA and NACTA said they are neither organizing nor sponsoring the prize giveaway.

ASTA said invitations are being sent to members of both organizations who reside in Washington. Interested parties should RSVP no later than Oct. 1. For more information on the event, please contact Dan Smith at [email protected].

NACTA is an affiliate of ASTA representing independent contractors, outside sales agents, cruise and tour oriented agents, group oriented travel professionals and traditional ARC-appointed travel agencies.
