Travel Leaders just wrapped its 16th Annual International Summit in Edinburgh, Scotland, which ran from April 24-26, 2015.

The event, for a select number of Travel Leaders member owners and supplier partners, was held at the Balmoral Hotel and the Waldorf Astoria Edinburgh - The Caledonian.

“Edinburgh is both a historically significant city – as evident by its ranking as a World Heritage Site – and a very vibrant, cosmopolitan city within greater Europe,” stated Roger E. Block, president of Travel Leaders Franchise Group. “In selecting it as the venue for our 16th International Summit, we wanted to provide our Travel Leaders members with an insider’s look at a destination that their clients may want to consider as an add on to a trip to London or an options for those who want something different within the United Kingdom. Edinburgh has a personality and flavor that is all its own and one that will captivate many of our members’ clients.”

While in Edinburgh, attendees were treated to an insider’s view of the city and surrounding area with an opportunity to enjoy private tours, including Kinloch Anderson – an Edinburgh family company since 1868 and experts in kilts, tartans and all aspects of Highland dress. The opportunities also included experiences at Stirling Castle, Loch Lomond, and the picturesque Distillery of Glengoyne, as well as golf at Gleneagles and touring the Royal Yacht Britannia, which was the royal yacht of the British monarch from 1954 to 1997. Attendees were hosted by Visit Scotland and Historic Scotland during a closing gala event at Edinburgh Castle – complete with authentic Scottish tartan kilts for the men and Scottish sashes and brooches for the ladies.

The Travel Leaders 2015 International Summit also afforded attendees a variety of pre- and post-summit tour options. The Globus family of brands provided tours featuring Scottish destinations such as Glasgow, Inverness and St. Andrews. Rabbie’s, one of Travel Leaders’ select In-Country Partners, also offered a selection of tours throughout Scotland for any Travel Leaders members staying in the country after the summit concluded.
