TRIP Postpones Orientation Meeting

July 22, 2008 By: George Dooley

The Travel Retailer Identification Program (TRIP) has postponed its planned orientation meeting until early 2009, according to Bruce Bishins, TRIP’s CEO. The meeting was originally planned for August in Atlanta. TRIP will use the interval to incorporate feedback and input from agents and suppliers.

In a statement TRIP said: “The industry has been clear that a new identification program is sorely needed, but with the current oil crisis, its dire impact on routes and lift changes to destinations, and a significant downturn in business travel, suppliers from all sectors of the industry have indicated that they must let these issues overshadow others at this time.”

TRIP is a travel agency accreditation and identification program.
