U.S. Division of APRIL Travel Protection Joins USTOA

The newly launched U.S. division of global insurance giant April Travel Protection recently joined the United States Tour Operators Association (USTOA).

April Travel Protection has a presence in more than 100 countries and more than two million policyholders worldwide. It's owned by APRIL, an international group with $1.1 billion in annual sales. April Travel Protection has a "Stress Less Benefits" branding that work to resolve consumers' problems instantly and provide on-the-spot payments for most covered benefits while the vacationer is still traveling.

April includes the feature in all insurance plans as well as policies purchased through affiliated travel agents, tour operators or other suppliers. "Stress Less Benefits aim to provide immediate solutions to covered issues so that customers don't walk away feeling like they purchased a policy that doesn't help them during their time of need," said Jason Schreier, CEO, April-USA.

USTOA requires its members to conduct business according to a set of professional standards include representing all facts, conditions and requirements relating to tours and vacation packages truthfully and accurately. Members must also agree to advertise and quote prices that are deliverable; accurately identify facilities, accommodations and services; and communicate any substitutions promptly to the travel agent and/or their client. Members must also demonstrate ethical and financial responsibility in their business conduct.
