CLIA Reports Strong Registration for National Cruise Week

cruise shipMore than 4,300 CLIA travel agents and agencies have signed up to participate in the second annual National Cruise Vacation Week (NCVW), Cruise Lines International Association’s “World’s Largest Cruise Sale,” CLIA reports.

NCVW, from October 21-27, is CLIA and the cruise industry’s single largest promotion, CLIA notes. Last year the event generated $55 million in cruise sales and more than $7 million in commissions for more than 5,000 participating agencies throughout the U.S. and Canada.

Many CLIA member lines are again offering special incentives for agents to book cruises during the event, including bonus commissions and free sailings.

Member agencies may register to host in-person or online NCVW events the week of October 21-27 at ncvw.cruising.org, which offers special promotions and other support provided by the 25 participating CLIA member cruise lines.

Agents may register for their own customized, agency-specific, online NCVW mini-sites complete with a selection of cruise line promotional videos, special offers and other consumer incentives to cruise, which will be live all October.

CLIA’s NCVW site also provides complete information about setting up virtual NCVW mini-sites, advice on hosting events, tips for agencies on how to promote their participation, and a broad selection of marketing and promotional tools and materials, from logos, press release templates and taglines to postcard and flyer templates.

CLIA reports it also will provide additional support to agencies through industry-wide publicity, national, regional and local media coverage, and other promotions.
