Helena Bay Luxury Lodge to Open in New Zealand This November

helena bayHelena Bay, a luxury lodge set along nearly two miles of private coastline on New Zealand’s North Island, will open on November 1.

When the property went under construction in 2010, it was set to be New Zealand’s most expensive private estate, and it has now expanded to provide luxurious retreat to no more than five couples (or a private group) at a time.

The lodge will offer a main house and two luxury guest villas, including five private villa suites, each with a private balcony to soak up endless views of Helena Bay beach, the South Pacific Ocean and its native wildlife, including dolphins and whales.

Both guests villas offer super king beds and waterfront balconies offering exquisite views of the South Pacific Ocean and its native wildlife, including dolphins and whales. The guest suites are outfitted with hand-made European linens, hypoallergenic pillows and duvets by Hefel, and Feiler towels sourced from Germany. The bathrooms showcase mosaic tiling, complemented with luxury bath accessories by Labrazel, products from Molton Brown, and robes by Christian Fischbacher.

The lodge also houses a gallery, library, spa, fresh water swimming pool, and a restaurant from celebrated Michelin-starred chef Ernesto Iaccarino of Ristorante Don Alfonso 1890.

On property activities include kayaking, paddle boarding, private boat charters for diving excursions and fishing trips off the Tutukaka Coast,  tennis, volleyball, mountain biking, and much more.

Helena Bay is 40 minutes from the Aukland airport via transport in the property’s private helicopter, or a three-hour drive for those looking to rent a car and continue visiting New Zealand’s luxury lodge circuit after their stay.
