Qantas Partners With Western Australian Government for Promotions

Big news for Australia's airspace: CIM Magazine is reporting that Qantas and the Western Australian government have signed a $7.65 million agreement to market and promote Western Australia internationally and within Australia. The co-operative marketing agreement will target potential visitors from the United Kingdom, United States, Singapore and Australia.

The partnership will include campaigns in key international markets including advertising special airfares and promotions around major events and activities. There will be a strong focus on digital platforms including online and social media.

The announcement follows similar deals between Qantas and New South Wales, Queensland and the Northern Territory, the airline noted in a statement, and takes the total joint investment in tourism to $56 million over three years.

Western Australia Tourism Minister Liza Harvey said that the partnership will "play an important role in our bid to attract more domestic and international visitors to the State and increase value of tourism in WA from $7.5 billion in 2012 to $12 billion by 2020."
