Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita to Unveil Renovations in November

The Four Seasons Resort Punta Mita is set to complete a multi-million dollar renovation project this November. New amenities to be unveiled include a newly elevated spa, redesigned top luxury suites and a renovated adults-only pool. All of the renovations were heavily influenced and inspired by the natural landscapes of Punta Mita and the region’s indigenous Huichol Indians.

The luxury resort, located in the Riviera Nayarit, commissioned Kollin Altomare Architects and interior designer Anderson Miller to lead the redesign and expansion of the resort’s Apuane Spa. The sanctuary-inspired spa will have a new reception area highlighted with Mexican-inspired artifacts and products from Dr. Hauschka Skin Care and Hydropeptide. A new relaxation courtyard is centered around a fountain and reflexology pool and sits beneath a palapa (a traditional Mexican shade roof). The updated spa holds 13 expanded treatment rooms, including two new rooms and a private Apuane Suite, which has a secluded, private courtyard well-suited for groups or private parties. The also recently expanded beauty salon now includes a separate area for brides for pre-wedding preparations. Full service changing rooms for both men and women will have both hot and cold hydrotherapy pools, therapeutic ice fountains and cold showers, eucalyptus steam rooms and saunas. The resort’s fitness facilities were also enhanced during renovations and new classes have been added to the resort’s fitness options.

Also designed by Miller are the reimagined and expanded Sol and Luna Suites. The suites now incorporate Mexican-inspired décor, private terraces, private infinity pools and multiple indoor and outdoor living spaces. Nearly double its original size, the Sol Suite now spans nearly 7,000 square feet and has five ocean-front bedrooms within its private clifftop location. The four-bedroom Luna Suite has just over 5,000 square feet of living space, panoramic ocean views and a new private infinity pool.

The transformed adults-only Tamai pool has been redesigned by Victor Jimenez of Studio 365 and draws inspiration from the work of local Mexican artisans. The pool’s new contemporary style is infused with organic materials, reflective of the region’s natural beauty. The expansive space will provide guests ample room for sunbathing and lounging, complete with plush sunbeds, hammocks, hanging chairs and palm-roofed palapas created with natural materials and Kravet fabrics from an exclusive collection within the Museum of Mexico. Seven private cabanas are available to rent for those seeking extra privacy. A new shaded restaurant and pool bar will serve the redone pool with a seasonal menu of various light fare options.
