During our coverage of the Cancun Travel Mart Mexico Summit 2008, we sat down with representatives of Rosewood Mayakoba to see if the property is still as successful as it was when it splashed on the Riviera Maya scene in December. We found that the resort is still hot among luxury clients in the Northeast and some parts of the West Coast, and that the property’s popularity is expected to continue rocketing since it opened a spa back in February.
The spa was basically the only amenity this luxury resort lacked. Since the spa was unveiled, occupancy has been nearly full capacity every month, we were told. Rosewood Mayakoba has 128 suites that overlook either the resort’s lagoons or the beach with views of the Caribbean Sea. Suites range in size from 800 to 3,200 square feet with an additional 200 to 400 square feet of outdoor space, which includes a private plunge pool.
