Bermuda's First Restaurant Week to Kick Off in JanuaryDecember 12, 2011 By: Joe Pike
The Bermuda Department of Tourism, in conjunction with 31 of the island’s top restaurants, will offer its first-ever Restaurant Week from January 16 – February 6.
Visitors can feel the love for both local Bermudian cuisine and international dishes ranging from Italian and French to Asian and American.
Prices for three-course prix fixe dinners will fall into three-tiers, depending on the participating restaurant, at $29, $39 or $49 per person (excluding beverages, tax and gratuity). Wine parings will be offered at $29, $39 or $49 dollars per bottle plus gratuities
“Bermuda’s reputation as a culinary destination continues to grow and, as such, we are excited to offer diners a great incentive to experience our culinary diversity through our first-ever Restaurant Week,” said Wayne L. Furbert, minister of business development and tourism for the Bermuda Department of Tourism, in a written release. “Our restaurants will have the opportunity to showcase their outstanding cuisine while our visitors can choose from a variety of restaurants at a price point in which they are most comfortable.”
Bermuda offers an array of dining options to fit any traveler’s budget, from simple and inexpensive to elegant and special dining. Besides importing some of the finest foods from around the globe, Bermudian chefs also utilize both the surrounding waters and local farms scattered throughout to provide fresh fish, fruits and vegetables in their award-winning meals. Many dishes, such as Bermuda’s famous fish chowder, are also paired with dashes of Goslings Dark Rum to enhance meals.
