Kor Hotel Group to Open First Canadian Property
Kor Hotel Group, the L.A.-based hotel operator, announced
the launch of Loden in
B.C., to debut in late summer 2007. It will be the company's first Canadian
property; its first joint hotel project with Amacon, a Canadian real estate
development firm; and the first new hotel to enter the
78-room hotel tower will include seven suites, a 1,600-square-foot Penthouse
Suite and a signature lobby-level restaurant and bar. A second-floor fitness
center will offer 1,000 square feet of space complete with personal trainers

New International Terminal at YVR
Vancouver International Airport (YVR) recently unveiled four
new gates, the first phase of YVR's International Terminal expansion and the
cornerstone of YVR's $1 billion capital construction program. The new terminal
features seating for 2,200 passengers, seven moving walkways and B.C.-inspired
artwork. The central pavilion area will be completed by June, featuring an
aquarium showcasing indigenous marine life, a 13,600-litre seawater tank
housing 100 moon jellyfish and a stream running through the center of the
building. The facilities will also have more than 25 new shops and services.
Hyatt Regency Renovations
Vancouver has completed an extensive six-year, $40 million renovation of
all 644 guest rooms and 45,000 square feet of public space. The renovated rooms
feature as walnut, natural stone and stainless steel. All rooms have new
32-inch LCD TVs and all bathrooms include natural slate, rain showers, backlit
mirrors and deluxe amenities.
