This Week in Cruise: Royal Caribbean Opens Hong Kong Office; Up Close With Costa Diadema's New Promenade

Royal Caribbean opened a new office in Hong Kong. As part of the plan for its new office, Royal Caribbean will be partnering with the Hong Kong Tourism Board and local travel organizations. The cruise company also unveiled the summer 2015 cruise season for Royal Caribbean International’s Voyager of the Seas.

On June 26, Voyager of the Seas will sail a six-night itinerary from Beijing (Tianjin) to its new homeport of Hong Kong, where the ship will offer 22 sailings through October 2015 for international vacationers to enjoy a three- to 10-night cruise aboard the ship. Guests can choose sailings that visit Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea and Taiwan, as well as destinations in China.

Costa Cruises revealed the plans for Costa Diadema's 1,640-foot promenade, which will be located on Deck 5 of the vessel. The deck will have six cabanas and two jacuzzis, which extend out from the side of the ship. The ship's christening ceremony is scheduled for Nov. 7, 2014, in Genoa, Italy.

Starting Nov. 8 and for the rest of the 2014-15 winter season and the 2015 summer season, Costa Diadema will depart Savona on seven-night cruises to the western Mediterranean, calling at Marseille, France; Barcelona and Palma de Mallorca, Spain; and Naples and La Spezia, Italy.

Seabourn signed an agreement with the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in an alliance to help protect World Heritage sites. Seabourn also committed to raising $1 million for UNESCO as part of this multi-year agreement.

This alliance means that their travels on Seabourn's all-suite ships will have more behind-the-scenes information about current and future World Heritage sites and projects. The company also plans to create World Heritage Discovery Tours at a number of ports worldwide, with exclusive content on World Heritage.
